Henry Cejudo wants to fight Jose Aldo, and he’s prepared to tie the knot to do it.

The UFC bantamweight champion was supposed to meet Aldo this weekend, only for the coronavirus pandemic to scupper those plans with United States embassies being closed in Brazil, leaving Aldo unable to receive a visa to make it into the country.

Now, Cejudo will instead meet former champion, Dominick Cruz, on Saturday night, but that doesn’t mean Cejudo is over the idea of meeting Aldo in the cage.

“I told Dana White, I’ll take this fight with Dominick Cruz but I don’t want to leave Jose ‘Baldo’ off the hook,” Cejudo said, speaking to TMZ Sports (as transcribed by MMAMania). “If I have to marry him to fight him, then I will do that. I will literally marry the dude to take the dude out. He’s having visa issues … I will get on one knee to beat his ass.”

Should Cejudo defeat Cruz, it’s entirely possible the UFC would look to bring Aldo back into the mix for a contest on Dana White’s much-discussed ‘Fight Island’, which is believed to be available for the promotion from sometime next month.

Henry Cejudo will attempt to defend his UFC bantamweight title against the most famous champion in divisional history, Dominick Cruz, in the UFC 249 co-main event. You can view all the latest fights odds via our official betting partner Parimatch.
