If only it was always this simple.
For the past week or so, former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker has been open with the fact he’d like to meet Darren Till in the Octagon at the next UFC held event in London. Then, today, Till headed to Twitter to announce he was fine with the suggestion, and would be happy to accept Whittaker’s request.
Now, after a moment of impatience from Till, it seems both middleweights are on the same page, and it’s just up to the UFC to make the fight.
Let’s fight at @ufc London then @robwhittakermma ? 🦍#YouAreNotReady

It’s currently 8.42am in Melbourne Australia, why aren’t you returning my calls Rob ? #HazeDer #IKnowYouAreAwake

Sorry mate was pumping iron. See you in London @Mickmaynard2 @ufc

It’s somewhat out of character for Whittaker to call so blatantly for an opponent, but the Australian has made it clear he has nothing but respect for Till, and merely wants to travel the world during his fight career and enjoy a trip to London while also competing.
There’s positives for both men. Should Till defeat Whittaker, it would likely make him number one contender in the 185 pound division, and move him closer to his dream contest with champion Israel Adesanya.
For Whittaker, Till is a big name and a fan favourite, and a solid victory over him would put Whittaker on the path to reclaiming his world title.
