Jon Jones isn’t finding a lot of enjoyment in defeating lower named fighters.
The UFC light heavyweight champion has a couple of options at 205 pounds, with the winner of upcoming Corey Anderson vs. Johnnie Walker or recently victorious Dominick Reyes seeming the most likely, but clearly doesn’t find either prospect particularly interesting.
Jones took to his social media to bemoan the current state of his division, asking the question “where did all the big names in the light heavyweight division go?”
Certainly, Jones has done his due diligence in cleaning out the weight class, and it’s true that some of his contenders lack the star power of foes of old. Indeed, even his old rival Daniel Cormier, who could always be trusted to put on an interesting scrap with Jones has headed to heavyweight for his apparent last fight.
Now, Jones is left looking for who’s next.
“Had a chip on my shoulder against Gus. Fighting Smith Santos Dominic??? I’m having a hard time even talking shit to this last dude,” Jones wrote on Twitter. “They all say the same lame shit.. I want a fight to be excited about.
“Really not sure when I’ll be fighting next, feel like I have nothing to gain by beating Dominic. I’ve actually felt that way about my last two opponents. I want a super fight,”

Recently, Jones has been going back and forth with Israel Adesanya, the new middleweight champion. Unfortunately for Jones, that fight seems some ways away from happening.
