Nate Diaz is back, and it’s with a vengeance.
The UFC star returned to the Octagon after a three year lay off to meet Anthony Pettis in the co-main of UFC 241, and he didn’t miss a step. Diaz showed incredible forward pressure and great grappling that eventually zapped Pettis of his energy en route to a Diaz decision win.
But while Diaz’ performance captured fan attention, it’s likely his words immediately afterwards that will be the takeaway from the night.

After saying he’d only been away for so long because all of his fellow fighters suck, Diaz pointed to a Mr. Jorge Masvidal at ringside and noted him as a potential next opponent. Cue a grinning Masivdal on screen.
“I know my man is a gangster but he ain’t no Westcoast gangster,” Diaz said, speaking to Joe Rogan.
Earlier this week in an interview with TheMacLife.com, Masvidal admitted that, while he’s determined to get a fight for the UFC welterweight title, should a Diaz fight be offered to him it’d be too good to decline.
