Earlier today, Donald Cerrone said he’d accepted a fight that fans “do not want to miss.” He was right.

Cerrone is set to meet fellow fan favourite Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC Vancouver on September 14 in a five round fight. UFC president Dana White confirmed the news to Yahoo Sports.

“Get ready, Vancouver!” White said to the outlet. “This fight is going to be ridiculous!”

It marks Cerrone’s return to action after his battle with Tony Ferguson, which he lost via doctor’s stoppage, last month. For Gaethje, it’s his first fight since a first round KO win over Edson Barboza in Philadelphia back in March. And, while the two men might have faced different fortunes in their last contests, such is their stature in the fans eyes that neither remains far from the top of 155-pounds.

It promises to be an absolute barn burner.
