As the old adage goes, anything can happen in mixed martial arts.
And, at Bellator 221, Douglas Lima wanted to prove that was the case. In the second round of his fight with Michael ‘Venom’ Page, Lima was cracked by a stiff punch that appeared, at least for a moment, to have him on rubbery legs. Just a few seconds later, he was having his hand raised.
The finish came as Lima kicked Page’s front leg out from underneath him, dropping him to the canvas, and then as the Englishman attempted to pop back up, Lima landed a brutal uppercut that had Page out cold before he even hit the floor.
