‘The Pikeman’ Brian Moore earned his third victory inside the Bellator cage at the promotion’s event in Birmingham, England on Saturday.

The Wexford man, who trains under the tutelage of John Kavanagh at SBG Ireland, was handed a dominant victory on the scorecards after three rounds of action against Sweden’s Binh Son Le. Moore, who was making his first appearance at 135-pounds, was the clear-cut winner when the judges decisions were announced as all three awarded the Irishman a runaway win (30-26, 30-25, 30-25).

“I had fucking fun in there,” Moore explained to Severe MMA after the fight. “15 minutes, I’m happy. It’s good experience at 135-pounds.”

“There was a lot of things I wanted to try and they worked well. The killer instinct? That’s not a band thing because I have that in bucketloads. I wanted to be in there for 15 minutes but I’m telling you right now, when we talk again sometime soon in 2020 this (the Irish tricolour) will be on this shoulder and there will be a big, fat, gold bantamweight belt on that shoulder.”

Elsewhere on the card, SBG Pedro Carvalho claimed the biggest win of his career when he defeated Bellator veteran Derek Campos via first round TKO. The Portuguese featherweight has now won all three of his assignments for Bellator (five straight overall) and afterwards held aloft both the Portuguese and Irish flags inside the cage.

There was disappointment, meanwhile, for Ireland’s Sam Slater who was beaten by Akonne Wanliss in the opening bout of the night.
