Saturday’s UFC 228 card in Dallas, Texas, is beginning to look like it may have some changes atop the card.
Nicco Montano, the UFC women’s flyweight champion, has reportedly been transferred to a local hospital in Dallas in the hour before the beginning of the two-hour early weigh-in window inside the Hilton Anatole.
Montano was scheduled to make the first defence of her title against former strawweight contender Valentina Shevchenko.
However, as reported by ESPN, Montano has now officially been removed from the card and, while Shevchenko officially made weight for the bout, she has now too been removed from the card. This is the second time that Shevchenko has seen a title fight fall apart at the last minute, after Amanda Nunes withdrew from their UFC 213 title fight citing illness.
Not hearing good things on the ground regarding Nicco Montano. Looks like her fight with Shevchenko’s in jeopardy.

Discussions are ongoing regarding what to do about tomorrow night Co-main, sources say. There aren’t any female flyweights on the card. The fight hasn’t been officially canceled just yet but it is in serious jeopardy considering Montaño’s health status.
