If you’ve followed Stipe Miocic’s mixed martial arts career, it’s not surprising he’s been nothing but humble after his defeat to Daniel Cormier on Saturday.
The former UFC heavyweight champion dropped the world title to Cormier after being knocked out in the first round, but showed no ill will or bitterness after the result, congratulating Cormier in his backstage interviews and stating unequivocally that he’d be back at the top eventually.
Today, Miocic added to those comments, taking to his social media to once again congratulate the new champion, and to call for a rematch before Cormier hangs up the gloves in March of next year.
“Congrats to DC,” Miocic wrote. “Didn’t get the chance to say it in the cage, but lets dance again and get a rematch before you call it a career. [Thanks] to my coaches and team. Being the greatest heavyweight in UFC history is a career-long journey and doesn’t end here. I’m more motivated than ever!”

Prior to Saturday night, Miocic already owned the record as the most ‘winningest’ UFC heavyweight champion in history with three title defenses.
