Neil Magny has a new opponent for UFC Liverpool.
A knee injury had ruled original opponent Gunnar Nelson out of the co-main event bout and with less than two weeks remaining until the organisation’s debut card in Liverpool and still no replacement opponent announced, it had looked increasingly likely that Magny would be scratched from the card also.
Not so.
The UFC announced on Tuesday that they have reached a deal with Cage Warrior’s 170-pound contender Craig White to become the latest in a long line of fighters to move from Cage Warriors to the world’s largest MMA promotion.
The UFC announced the move on Tuesday afternoon via Twitter.

White (14-7), a former middleweight, has fought himself into title contention in the Cage Warriors 170-pound frame, winning four straight to earn a place in a bout to determine the next welterweight champion against an opponent yet to be determined. However, while the terms of White’s deal with the UFC remain unknown to the media, it is likely he will receive at least one more fight in the promotion regardless of the outcome of the short notice fight with Magny.
His opponent in 12 days time, Magny (20-6), comes into the bout on the back of the biggest win of his career after he defeated Carlos Condit by decision towards the end of last year. He was notable for an impressive 7-fight win streak between 2014 and 2015 but has recently come up short in bouts against Rafael Dos Anjos and Lorenz Larkin.
White, meanwhile, joins Nathaniel Wood and Molly McCann as recent UFC signees from the Cage Warriors roster.
