Just because people share a country of birth doesn’t mean they’re friends. Just ask Artem Lobov and Khabib Nurmagomedov, who got into something of an altercation at a New York hotel ahead of UFC 223 this weekend.

The pair were caught on film in an apparent disagreement with each other in their native Russian, with both men attempting to be separated by their teammates. It perhaps makes sense, with Nurmagomedov long firing verbal shots at Lobov’s longtime friend and training partner Conor McGregor.

Nurmagomedov takes on Max Holloway this Saturday for the UFC lightweight belt — something which McGregor himself currently possesses.
