Well, this doesn’t happen very often.

Those longtime fans of the sport will no doubt recall the infamous double knockout Tyler Bryan and Shane Parker experienced in their MMA professional debuts almost a decade ago (along with former UFC fighter Shonie Carter’s hilarious reaction to it).

So rare is something like this that we’ve had to a wait quite a while for it to repeat itself but that’s exactly what happened when Axel Cavares took on Alan Vasquez at last weekend’s Shamrock FC last Saturday night. Both men threw rights at each other and both landed flush, dropping Vasquez and leaving Cavares staggered against the canvas. After a few seconds of confusion where the referee doesn’t quite know how to react, Vasquez manages to come to and is swiftly declared the winner.
