Irish fans have been making waves in the MMA world ever since Conor McGregor’s rise to worldwide stardom began with a KO victory over Marcus Brimmage back in April 2013.
A little over three years later those travelling fans have seen “The Notorious” not only establish a record of 9-1 within the UFC, but have also witnessed the Crumlin fighter become the first man in the promotion’s history to hold separate titles simultaneously after he beat Eddie Alvarez to take home the Lightweight championship last night.
The KO victory drew historic images from inside the octagon, with the SBG star holding two belts aloft while sitting atop of the cage, but the fans were part of some memorable scenes outside of the arena as well as they spilled onto the streets of New York City following the result.
