Dana White joked that the FIFA World Cup final broadcast team had overtaken the UFC’s production crew for on-air mistakes after Spain’s 1-0 victory over Argentina on Sunday.

The UFC CEO posted a video to his Instagram Stories following the match, referencing his criticism of UFC production after UFC 329, when new Zuffa Boxing signing Shakur Stevenson was incorrectly identified on the broadcast as Oklahoma City Thunder player Jalen Williams. At the time, White described UFC production as the worst in sports in that area.

“It’s crazy, I actually teed up the guys who are doing the production, the guys responsible for the production of the World Cup for you guys to hit a grand slam home run,” said White. “Even though everybody in my team was arguing with me saying that you are the worst, I said no, we are the worst. They didn’t f*ck it up as bad as we did.”

White continued by suggesting the World Cup broadcast had surpassed the UFC’s own mistakes. “What do you guys do? You triple down today, and you just go ‘F*ck you, Dana White, you’re not beating us. We’re the worst production team in the history of sports to every show celebrities,’” said White.

The comments come during the first year of the UFC’s new broadcast partnership with Paramount, a seven-and-a-half-year agreement worth a reported $7.7 billion. While the lower subscription cost has been welcomed by many fans, the broadcasts have also drawn criticism over issues including fighter walkouts, event pacing and post-production availability.

“I bow down,” White added. “Congratulations to the producers of the World Cup. You guys win. You guys f*cked up that flyover, too. I’m not going to nitpick, I’m just giving you credit where credit is due. You guys absolutely fcking suck. We are the second worst.”
