Both of the title fights that top this weekend’s UFC 315 card are good to go following Friday morning’s weigh-ins in Montreal.
Welterweight champion Belal Muhammad tipped the scales at an even 170-pounds ahead of his title defence against the surging Australian contender Jack Della Maddalena, who also came in on the championship weight at 170-pounds dead. Separately, women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko came in one-pound light (124-pounds) for her defence against the 12-1 French southpaw Manon Fiorot (125-pounds).
Just one fight required a little last minute shake-up as both Jose Aldo and his opponent Aiemann Zahabi agreed to change their bout from bantamweight to featherweight after both appeared to have issues in making their contracted weight of 136-pounds. Former featherweight champion Aldo came in at 143, while Zahabi posted a weight of 142.
There were no other mishaps on the scales ahead of Saturday’s 12-fight card, even if Bruno Silva and Daniel Santos both required a little extra tie to make middleweight and featherweight respectively.
