Ahead of his comments to media in Toronto on Wednesday, Sean Strickland suggested that he had been told by UFC brass to tone down his sometimes controversial rhetoric.

After witnessing the 25-minute event to promote his UFC 297 title defence against Dricus du Plessis on Saturday night, it appears that he did not take their advice. Fielding questions from the media, including The Mac Life, Strickland discussed several topics — including his fight with Du Plessis, his hatred for Ian Machado Garry, how he broke down on Theo Von’s podcast and various other issues.

“If one day I wake up and cuck Ian Garry and everybody hates me, do you think I give a f*ck?” Strickland says at one point in the press conference. “You think I give a f*ck if I walk down the street and someone says there’s Sean Strickland, f*ck him. I don’t care. Enjoy, motherf*cker.

“You better just do it far enough away, because I’ll hit you. I’m not Colby Covington. I’m not Chris Curtis. I’m not going to delete my f*ckingTwitter. Enjoy. You want to go call me whatever you want, have at it. Enjoy. Just do it online.”
