The time for talking is almost at an end.

In the main event of Saturday’s UFC 317 from Las Vegas, Nevada, a new lightweight champion will be crowned when former featherweight pacesetter Ilia Topuria takes on the ex-lightweight champ Charles Oliveira to determine a new titleholder following Islam Makhachev’s move to welterweight.

The fight pits two of the roster’s most feared finishers against one another. Topuria has stood out as one of the best boxers in any division throughout his undefeated run through the 145-pound fold, which saw him score finishes of two of the best featherweights in history: Alex Volkanovski and Max Holloway.

Oliveira, though, has several ways to win the fight too. A buzzsaw of a striker, Oliveira is also regarded as perhaps the finest submission artist in the history of the promotion, as shown by an impressive record of 21 career submission wins — more than Topuria’s entire career of fights.

So far, both men have been cordial with one another throughout fight week — especially at Thursday’s pre-fight press conference, which you can watch below.
