Roman Dolidze is plotting a course into the top ten at 185-pounds.

On Saturday night inside the UFC Apex on the outskirts of Las Vegas, Georgia’s Dolidze will seek to take another step towards what could be a unprecedented third UFC world champion hailing from the country when he takes on the 8th-ranked Marvin Vettori in what is a rematch of their first bout almost exactly two years ago which was won the Italian middleweight by unanimous judges’ decision.

Dolidze, who also lost his next contest to Nassourdine Imavov, has rebounded with successive victories against Anthony Smith and at last October’s UFC 307 against veteran fighter Kevin Holland in a fight that was prematurely ended after Holland sustained a rib injury during a scramble in the first round.

Should Dolidze win, he will almost certainly improve his ranking into the top ten at middleweight in a division in which contenders are jockeying for position to fight the reigning champion Dricus du Plessis.
