If you don’t know the name by now, odds are you will soon.

27-year-old New Jersey native Joe Pyfer has made a big impression in the UFC since graduating to the main roster from the Dana White Contender Series back in 2022. His three fights so far in the UFC’s main middleweight roster have brought three finishes — with none of his opponents yet making it out of the first round.

One of those wins came in his official UFC debut back in September 2022 when he dropped North Macedonian fighter Alen Amedovski with a clubbing right hand to the ear inside the first round before landing one more shot on the ground for good measure. Pyfer takes on, by far, the sternest test of his career this weekend in the UFC’s Apex facility outside Las Vegas when he fights the experienced Swede Jack Hermansson. One more win on his ledger there, and the UFC’s 185-pound fold will be alerted to another rising contender in the shark-tank division.
