Jean Silva is a finisher.
The 28-year-old Brazilian buzzsaw returns to the Octagon in Miami, Florida this weekend as part of the bumper UFC 314 card where he will take on a fighter who has recently become one of the most disliked on the roster in Bryce Mitchell (read about his comments on a podcast in January if you don’t know why).
Silva, a member of the full featherweight roster since January 2024 after he graduated following an impressive performance on Dana White’s Contender Series, has emerged as one of the 145-pound division’s most feared strikers throughout his ongoing 12-fight win streak — with the past four of those coming in the UFC all by KO or TKO.
Silva is backing himself to add one more name to that list when he takes on the grappling expert Mitchell this weekend — and judging by his first-round win against Melsik Baghdasaryan in his last performance in the cage in February, it is easy to see where his confidence comes from.
