A rematch of an LFA title bout is one of the featured bouts at this weekend’s UFC event in Seattle, Washington.
Brendan Allen, who in September saw his seven-fight win streak come to an end in the Octagon when he came out on the wrong end of a unanimous decision loss to Nassourdine Imavov, will seek to re-establish his title run in the UFC’s 185-pound fold when he fights Anthony Hernandez, the owner of seven straight wins in the organisation.
The bout will serve as a sequel to the first Allen vs. Hernandez meeting which came under the banner of the LFA in 2018 — a fight that Hernandez won by unanimous decision.
Allen, the ninth-ranked middleweight in the UFC, will seek revenge as he seeks to defend his position in the contender ladder against the 12th-ranked Hernandez — and if he is able to roll off the same type of grapple-heavy approach that saw him submit the always dangerous Paul Craig back in November 2023, there might be a new contender to Dricus du Plessis’ world title.
