The past and present of the UFC’s light heavyweight division came face-to-face on Wednesday in Rio de Janeiro ahead of this weekend’s UFC 301 card.
Alex Pereira, just a couple of weeks or so removed from his first 205-pound title defence against Jamahal Hill at UFC 300, was apparently keen to show his grappling prowess to another former light heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier, when the two crossed paths in the fighter hotel in advance of the UFC’s return to Rio on Saturday night.
And judging by the footage that his filtered its way to social media, it was ‘Poatan’ who had the better of the friendly informal grappling exchange between the two.
