It’s rare for fighters to cross paths four times in a mixed martial arts cage, but some ten years after they fought in their trilogy fight, Wanderlei Silva and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson look set to clash in fight number four.

Earlier today, Bellator MMA announced the pair would be involved in a press conference next week to announce a new broadcast deal in what the promotion labelled a “can’t miss event.” Shortly after that news was released, Silva took to his Facebook page to reveal the promotion had offered him a contest with Jackson for September 29 this year.

”Like people say, it’s very hard for a good professional to retire,” Silva said (h/t to MMAFighting’s Guilherme Cruz. “I just got a call from Bellator inviting to be part of the Sept. 29 (card) against Quinton Jackson in the main event in California. It’s our fourth bout, I won two of the first three, so it’s 2-1 for me.”

Silva currently leads Jackson 2-1 in their storied past. The pair met twice under the Pride banner in two iconic contests, with Silva winning by brutal knockout via knees on both times. They then met in the UFC, with Jackson returning the favour after landing a huge left hook.
