Claressa Shields said 2020 would be the year she began her mixed martial arts training, and she’s sticking to her word.
The boxing phenom has been eyeing a switch to MMA for a while, having been linked to a fight with UFC double champion Amanda Nunes over the past few months. While Shields does have some way to go before she can step into the cage, it’s clear she’s got an open mind to the idea of transitioning between the two sports, and today posted some footage of her first kickboxing lesson.
