The UFC’s first visit to Atlanta since April 2019 is official following Friday’s weigh-ins.

Both men in the welterweight main event, former champion Kamaru Usman and the surging contender Joaquin Buckley, successfully made weight on the scales early Friday. Both registered an official weight of 171-pounds, which is on the nose for a non-title welterweight fight.

Usman comes into the bout eager to end a three-fight skid which has seen him loss twice to former champion Leon Edwards, while also losing a majority decision to Khamzat Chimaev in his most recent bout in October of 2023. Buckley, by comparison, has now won six straight fights at 170, including a shellacking of former three-time title challenger Colby Covington back in December.

Elsewhere, Rose Namajunas will look to get back to winning ways when she takes on Miranda Maverick, who currently boasts a four-fight win streak in the women’s flyweight fold.

Meanwhile, there were no misses on the scales but Mansur Abdul-Malik had not yet weighed in for his middleweight fight with Cody Brundage at the time of writing this article.
