Paddy Pimblett is officially a ranked UFC lightweight.

The Liverpool man’s sixth win in the UFC, which came last weekend in Manchester when he landed a first-round triangle choke/armbar technique on King Green has seen him supplant the 50-fight MMA veteran in the 155-pound rankings, taking the #15 spot  — just one place behind the former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos and staring up at the likes of Jalin Turner (13) and Benoit Saint Denis (12).

Pimblett’s desired next opponent, Renato Moicano, is ranked in tenth position, and faces Saint Denis in his next outing.

Tom Aspinall, fresh from another incredibly brief outing in the cage with his 60-second TKO stoppage of Curtis Blaydes in defence of his interim heavyweight title, retains his position as the number one heavyweight contender (five places ahead of Stipe Miocic, incidentally) and moves up two spots to ninth in the pound-for-pound rankings, sandwiched between Max Holloway (10) and Alexander Volkanovski (8).

Leon Edwards’ title defeat to new welterweight champion Belal Muhammad sees him drop down to the number one contender position, as well as falling three rugs on the P4P ladder to seventh. Muhammad, meanwhile, debuts on the list at number six.
