UFC middleweight Michael ‘Venom’ Page has expressed disappointment over how UFC fighters are valued compared to Conor Benn’s reported $15 million contract with Zuffa Boxing.
The UFC recently inked a new $7.7 billion broadcast deal with Paramount and announced an increase to its post-fight bonuses as part of the new agreement. However, the reported figure attached to Benn’s boxing contract has drawn scrutiny from some fighters, including Page, who returns to the Octagon on March 21 against Sam Patterson at UFC London.
“[Conor Benn’s reported contract] is not something I’m happy about,” Page told The Ariel Helwani Show. “I heard about the, if you want to call it an increase in the bonus structure [in the UFC] and this is why I wasn’t bothered to be excited initially because for me, that doesn’t do enough, comparatively to the money they’ve just brought in for themselves.”
Page also questioned the promotion’s approach as it expands into other ventures. “Dana White has always been quite excited about going into the boxing world and other things like, the Slap Fighting… But then to see it and how highly he values people away from the sport that built his reputation, it’s upsetting, disappointing more than anything,” he added.
“It gives us something to complain about, in all honesty, I think if you couldn’t see the value of your fighters prior to this… We have deserved more. I hate hearing stories of fighters getting to the pinnacle of your career in terms of the UFC and still being broke. That shouldn’t exist,” Page said.
Promoter Eddie Hearn has also weighed in on the situation, predicting a potential UFC fighter revolt in 2026 after learning about offers made by Zuffa Boxing. Page is not alone in his reaction to Benn’s reported deal, with Sean O’Malley also sharing surprise at the figure attached to the contract.
Page is scheduled to face Patterson at UFC London later this month as discussions around fighter pay continue in the wake of the promotion’s new broadcast agreement and expansion into boxing.
