Michael ‘Venom’ Page has a clear vision for what he would see as the undisputed highlight of his career.

The London Shootfighters veteran got back into the win column earlier this month when he handed the first loss of his career to the previously-unbeaten Shara Bullet in the UFC’s latest event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The decision win went some way to erasing Page’s first UFC loss which came this past summer at the hands of Ireland’s Ian Machado Garry.

Page, who turns 38 in April, likely doesn’t have all that much time remaining in his career if he is to make good on his ambition of winning a UFC world title.

“You’re preaching to the choir, that’s a dream!” MVP told The Mirror of his aspirations to compete in a welterweight title bout with former champion Leon Edwards on UK soil. “Obviously, when Leon had the belt, that was something I would speak about quite regularly. I would love all those things. You didn’t miss a trick, I would love every single one of those things.”

Edwards returns to the UFC cage on March 22 where he will fight surging 170-pound contender Jack Della Maddalena in London, and Page says he will be a more than interested observer when two athletes he holds in high regard trade leather.

“It’s a tough fight for both of them,” he said. “I think it’s going to be a slow pace fight because they’re both like that, they’re very patient fighters, very technical striking. “I think difference is going to be the ground. Jack’s got more of a scrambly style when it comes to the wrestling, but Leon is a bit more patient, a bit more static strength and he’s very strong.

“I would edge it to Leon, but it’s a very tough fight for him to cope with, but I think he’s going to be slightly bigger and a stronger guy as well in the striking, slightly taller and has a bit more reach. Those few things are going to help with the exchanges.”
