James Gallagher is injured and out of his Bellator 187 main event clash with Jeremiah Labiano.

Gallagher has suffered a knee injury in training, and is unable to compete at the event. Per MMAFighting, Gallagher’s rival A.J. McKee will fight an SBG Ireland stablemate of Gallagher’s in the main event.

It’s a disappointing turn of events for all involved. Bellator have long looked at the Irish and UK markets as places of interest, and Gallagher’s fast rising star power in his home nation had given them a solid act to base their promotion around.

Back in June, Gallagher defeated Chinzo Machida in New York, firmly cementing him as one of the up-and-comers to watch in the promotion. He’ll now be forced to sit on the sidelines and recover.

Bellator 187 takes place on November 10 at the 3Arena in Dublin.
