Dana White has joined critics of Michael “Venom” Page following a subdued victory over Sam Patterson at UFC London, with the UFC CEO openly dismissing the performance.
Page secured the win over his former training partner across three rounds at the O2 Arena, but the bout drew boos from the crowd after the welterweight landed just 33 strikes and attempted only 61 in a low-output contest.
White was unimpressed with the fight, saying, post-fight “I mean I didn’t think it was a great fight either. It was a bad fight. I don’t know. He won so we’ll see what’s next.”
The fight saw limited engagement from both competitors, with referee Rich Mitchell warning the fighters between rounds in an effort to encourage more action, though no points were deducted.
Former Bellator standout Page, known for his counter-striking style, struggled to impose himself over the 15-minute contest, while Patterson also failed to generate significant offence, contributing to a lacklustre encounter.
The result moves Page to 4-1 in the UFC, with his only defeat coming against Ian Machado Garry, but he has yet to record a finish inside the promotion since signing as a free agent.
His most recent knockout victory came in 2019 during his time in Bellator, although he did secure a stoppage via leg kicks against Goiti Yamauchi in 2023 prior to joining the UFC.
