In the first round of his main event with Marlon Moraes, Henry Cejudo was being pieced up.
The Brazilian’s kicks, his speed and his ability to fire over and over seemed to have the Olympic gold medalist in serious trouble. Then, in the second, the UFC flyweight champion bit down on his mouthpiece and came out swinging.
For the second round, Cejudo fired back, occasionally eating a bit shot from Moraes, but as round three started it was clear the pace had withered and Cejudo managed to take advantage.
A solid takedown led to Cejudo taking advantage and after a few submission attempts, he landed blow after blow which caused the referee to step in and call a halt to proceedings.
Cejudo is now the seventh athlete to hold a UFC title in two weight divisions, joining names like Conor McGregor, Georges St-Pierre and Daniel Cormier.
