If Marvin Vettori is to have realistic ideations on gaining another shot at UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, he will get no better opportunity than by earning a decisive victory against one of the 185-pound division’s previous champions in Robert Whittaker.

The two top-ranked middleweights clash this weekend in the co-main event of the UFC’s first ever event in Paris, France — a fight which comes just a couple of years removed from the sport of mixed martial arts becoming legalised in the European country after prolonged opposition from various lobbying groups in the country.

And it’s quite the card that the UFC have assembled. The most prominent French fighter in the world, Ciyrl Gane, takes on Tai Tuivasa in the main event in a fight which isn’t expected to go the distance, but there could be similar fireworks in the co-headliner between Vettori and Whittaker.

Check out the Italian’s last performance below, a decision win against Marvin Vettori from last October.
