UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis wants to settle his beef with Israel Adesanya.

The South African, who claimed the UFC’s 185-pound championship from Adesanya’s initial conqueror, Sean Strickland, in January, has long forecast a title showdown with ‘Stylebender’ and took to social media on Tuesday to suggest UFC 305 as the ideal stage to host the bout.

“Looks like someone wants another beating in Aus.,” Du Plessis wrote on Instagram, responding to media speculation that the promotion is seeking to arrange the bout for the event scheduled for August 18 in Perth, Australia.

“I’m in, I also wouldn’t want to fight the king of Africa on home soil. Manifestations working good for you AGAIN!”

According to Ariel Helwani, both fighters are open to the fight on the suggested date but the UFC has yet to formally engage either party to get the ball rolling.

Du Plessis and Adesanya have had a long-standing rivalry dating back to when Adesanya was the reigning middleweight champion and were initially linked to a fight last September, however the South African was unable to make the date and Strickland stepped in to upset Adesanya, defeating the former champion in a five-round decision.
