Well, Darren Till hasn’t spent the short time since fighting Donald Cerrone doing nothing. The up and coming welterweight stormed into the top ten with his win over ‘Cowboy’ back at UFC Gdansk, and since then has been linked to a number of fights with big name opponents.
Stephen Thompson, Mike Perry, Demian Maia and others have all been thrown out as potential foes for Till’s next time out in the UFC Octagon, but for some reason or another none of those men are willing or able to answer the call. One man who has no hesitation, however, is Gunnar Nelson.
When Till took to his social media to proclaim that ‘they’re all running scared’, the Icelander wasted no time in sending a response, simply posting “I’m game big boy.”
From there, it didn’t take long for the two of them to agree to a contest.
Im game big boy

There had previously been reports that Till would be facing former welterweight contender Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson after UFC president Dana White announced the two would be facing at an event in England during the month of February. That contest appears to have been off the table however, after Thompson and his coach both poured water on the potential bout, citing Till’s lower ranking as a factor.
