Former UFC welterweight title contender Darren Till will face Anthony Taylor in his Misfits Boxing debut next month.

Till, who last competed for the UFC in a losing effort to current middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis in December 2022, was due to face the undefeated boxer Tommy Fury in the ring in Manchester in January — however Fury withdrew from the contest following comments fro Till in which he said he would kick Fury in the head if he was down on the scorecards early in the fight.

Had Till done as he suggested (which he appeared to be joking about, by the way) he would have lost his entire purse for the fight.

Instead, though, it was confirmed on Sunday that Till will fight frequent Misfits participant and occasionally MMA fighter Anthony ‘Pretty Boy’ Taylor — a fighter who has previously faced (and lost to) Tommy Fury on the influencer boxing scene.

Taylor has found some success on this scene, defeating Anderson Silva’s son Gabriel and Karate Combat fighter Samuel Ericsson in August of this year. He was previously fought in mixed martial arts for Bellator, including a 2016 submission loss to Ireland’s James Gallagher.

Till, meanwhile, enters the boxing scene after losing five of his last six fights for the UFC and subsequently requesting his release from the organisation.
