Conor McGregor could well be back at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue before long.
The Irishman, who made an appearance at the White House to celebrate the St. Patrick’s Day festivities earlier this year, has registered his interest in competing at the card to take place at the White House next year as part of the America 250 celebrations recently announced by the US president and confirmed by UFC boss Dana White.
And speaking to The Schmo, as noted by MMA Fighting, McGregor confirmed that he has re-entered the UFC’s drug-testing protocols ahead of making himself available for the fight card expected to take place in July of next year.
“They’re testing me,” McGregor said. “I’m in the pool. I thought that’s what the pools were for, jumping in and out, but I’m back in the pool. So get ready and stay ready because damage will be done. Oval office. White House card.”
McGregor had entered the UFC’s drug-testing protocols ahead of his scheduled bout with Michael Chandler last year that McGregor was forced to withdraw from after sustaining a foot injury in preparation.
Active fighters are mandated to stay in the program at all times, though McGregor dropped out as he rehabbed from a serious foot injury sustained during his most recent fight in the cage.
Per official records, McGregor was tested 11 times in 2024. Athletes are required to submit six months of samples before being permitted to compete.
