Bo Nickal will attempt to rebound from the first loss of his professional mixed martial arts career in November.
It was confirmed on Tuesday that the Penn State wrestling great will take on fellow grappling expert Rodolfo Vieira as part of the UFC’s annual trip to New York City’s Madison Square Garden, which will this year take place on November 15.
It will be Nickal’s return to action after he was soundly defeated by Reiner de Ridder by second-round TKO in Iowa this past May.
In Vieira, Nickal will face another stern test of his grappling credentials. The Brazilian is a world-renowned grappler who has previously placed first at the ADCC championships and also has five gold medals at the at the BJJ World Championships. In MMA, Vieira has compiled an 11-3 record and was most recently seen in the cage last month where he scored a unanimous decision victory against Tresean Gore.
UFC 322 is set to be headlined by a welterweight title bout between champion Jack Della Maddalena and the former lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, while Valentina Shevchenko fights Zhang Weili and Leon Edwards takes on Carlos Prates.
