Anthony Joshua might have had plans to call out Deontay Wilder should he win this Saturday night in New York, but Wilder has apparently just taken that option away from him.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday night, the WBC world champion confirmed recent rumours and reports, announcing he’s signed to rematch Luis Ortiz at a date to be announced soon.

“To all my fans, I want to announce that Luis Ortiz and I have signed for a rematch, with the date and site to be announced shortly. All my controversial fights must get dealt with ASAP‼️.”

The announcement continues the tiring and on-going saga of Joshua vs. Wilder. Both men are world champions in their sport, and yet despite their continued dominance, politics continue to keep them apart for the time being. Earlier this year, Wilder refused a deal of $100 million to meet Joshua on the DAZN platform, and instead decided to stay on Showtime.

He recently knocked out Dominic Breazeale in stunning fashion.
