Ever since Conor McGregor adopted Vince McMahon’s ‘Billionaire Strut’ in advance of his latest bouts in the octagon the move has permeated the sports world like no other celebration, perhaps since The Dab.
Several sports stars like Paul Pogba, Marc Gasol, Shaquille O’Neal and Kiko Alonso have adopted the strut at one time or another but the latest member of the ‘Billionaire Strut’ club is someone who has a closer connection to Conor McGregor than anyone — Lincoln City footballer Alan Power who broke out the move after scoring a penalty in the FA Cup against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Explaining himself in an interview with The Telegraph, Power explained the significance of his celebration.
“Conor is huge in Ireland, especially in Dublin”, Power said. “He’s someone I admire greatly, what he has achieved, it’s remarkable. We used to knock around in the same circle of friends back home when we were growing up. He played Sunday League football where I did, actually he wasn’t a bad footballer, but he chose a different path.”
Power goes on to say that he has since lost touch with McGregor but hopes that the UFC lightweight champion sees his tribute.
“I’ve not spoken to him in years, he’s a superstar now. The last time I spoke to him he was cage fighting in Dublin and wasn’t too sure if he was going to continue with it, but he’s a phenomenon. When he went over to America to fight in the UFC, we lost touch, but everyone who knew him then, we’re so proud of everything he has achieved.”
