Conor McGregor has hailed the arrival of “the biggest girl band since The Spice Girls” to the Greenback Records label he founded last year.

McGregor established the label in July of last year alongside business partners business partners Richard Buck and Julian O’Brien, aiming to forge partnerships with bands and artists ‘in a way that hasn’t been done before’ — with a new release from hip hop icon Xzibit being among Greenbacks’ first orders of business.

But in a message posted by McGregor to Instagram on Wednesday, the Irishman confirmed that the stable has grown further with the signing of the British girl band Sweet Love.

“Ladies and gentlemen. An amazing day for Greenback Records,” McGregor said in the video announcement. “I am super proud and excited to announce the signing of the biggest girl band since The Spice Girls.

“Introducing…Sweet Love. Over here we have the beautiful Venice. We have the beautiful Honey. Gorgeous Jasmine and gorgeous Maya. We have new music coming soon. Real soon, stay tuned.”

Speaking last year, McGregor outlined the Greenback Records’ strategy. “I am excited to create Ireland’s first major record label, in an industry that I have had great interest in for some time,” he said.

“To be able to come in and offer music artists a fair deal and properly reward them for their talent. This industry, like others, has needed an overhaul for a long time. I am excited for myself, McGregor Sports & Entertainment, to partner with Richard and Julian as founders to bring Greenback Records to life!”

Meanwhile, Richard Buck said that the label will “challenge traditional norms for the way artists and record labels work together and Greenback Records will be at the forefront of revolutionising the music scene and supporting artists’ talent and creative vision.”
