Tyson Fury has suggested he is set to be involved in a major announcement alongside UFC president Dana White, fuelling speculation about a possible link with Zuffa Boxing as he continues preparations for a potential showdown with Anthony Joshua.
The former heavyweight world champion made the comments during an appearance at the UFC’s White House event on Sunday, held as part of celebrations marking 250 years of American independence. Fury was interviewed by UFC broadcaster Jon Anik and was asked whether he had an announcement involving White.
“I think I’m going to let Dana do the speaking, but it is a massive, massive announcement,” said Fury.
Fury was also asked whether White could play a role in promoting a long-anticipated fight with fellow Briton Anthony Joshua, which is being targeted for late 2026. “100% potential, yes,” said Fury. He added: “I’m very excited for this fight. It’s been over a decade in the making. For whatever reason it hasn’t happened before. Let’s hope it happens right now, very soon.”
The comments come amid growing interest in Zuffa Boxing, the Saudi-backed promotion founded by White. Fury, who has long been associated with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, said in an Instagram story on Monday that he will be promoted by Turki Alalshikh for the remainder of his career.
Zuffa Boxing has been seeking to establish itself as a rival to boxing’s traditional promotional structure. The company signed British welterweight Conor Benn earlier this year and has since added several fighters to its roster, including IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia. Any formal involvement with Fury would represent the promotion’s most significant signing to date.
Fury returned from retirement with a victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov in April and has indicated he could take part in another “potential fight in August” before any meeting with Joshua. Joshua is scheduled to face Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on 25 July, with both fighters expected to continue winning if a future bout between the British heavyweights is to be finalised.
