Jake Paul’s promoter and business partner Nakisa Bidarian says a fight between Paul and former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is more than just talk.

“I think the fight can absolutely happen,” Bidarian told Sky Sports. “We’re actively discussing it with Matchroom.”

Paul, 27, has previously stated his intention to take on a heavyweight, and Bidarian believes Joshua is a realistic target.

“I’m looking at it as Jake versus Joshua, which is quite biblical,” he said. “Size-wise, we can get comfortable with it, and experience-wise, Jake is learning very fast. Joshua is a little long in the tooth.”

Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s long-time promoter, didn’t dismiss the idea outright.

“If Jake Paul wants to step in with Anthony Joshua, we’d take that in a heartbeat,” Hearn told TalkSPORT. “Financially it would be a huge event. But from a boxing point of view? He’d get flattened.”

Hearn added: “If Jake wants to be mad enough to do it and make a lot of money, I think he will.”

Joshua, speaking briefly on the subject, said only: “He’s good for boxing.”

Not everyone in Joshua’s camp is convinced. Trainer Ben Davison told TalkSPORT: “There’s no way any commission would sanction that fight. It’s a mismatch in terms of skill, power, experience — everything.”

No date has been confirmed, but Paul’s team is reportedly targeting early 2026, with Wembley Stadium and Saudi Arabia both being considered as possible venues.
