Matchroom Sport chairman Eddie Hearn has hit back at UFC CEO Dana White, describing him as “absolutely clueless” and rejecting White’s claim that he will be the lead promoter for a potential heavyweight showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

The latest exchange marks another chapter in the long-running public feud between Hearn and White, whose Zuffa Boxing venture launched earlier this year. White claimed at a news conference on Saturday that Hearn was not involved in negotiating the Joshua-Fury fight and suggested he knew details about the event that had not yet been announced.

“Call Eddie right now and ask him where the fight is,” said White, according to ESPN. “Call Eddie and ask who negotiated the contract for the fight. It wasn’t him.”

Hearn dismissed those comments on Thursday. “His boxing business is so dead that he’s trying to find a way to be relevant and part of the biggest fight in boxing, which is Joshua vs. Fury,” said Hearn, according to the same publication. “I negotiated the fight contract three months with SELA and Turki Alalshikh. Dana White has no clue what is in that contract. No. 1, Dana White, TKO, Zuffa can have no promotional involvement in that show at all. He also doesn’t know about the other clause that was put in the contract that says Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury must take place in the UK.”

No date or venue has been officially announced for a Joshua-Fury fight, although Hearn told ESPN it is expected to take place in November in the United Kingdom, most likely at Wembley Stadium, provided both fighters come through their upcoming bouts. Joshua is scheduled to face Kristian Prenga on July 25, while Fury is reportedly expected to take a fight later this summer.

The dispute comes amid broader tensions between the two promoters. Earlier this year, Zuffa Boxing signed Conor Benn, who had been promoted by Hearn throughout his professional career. Hearn also said that DAZN had recently sent a cease-and-desist letter to White regarding Ryan Garcia, following a similar move by Golden Boy Promotions. “It’s really just more arrogance from Dana White and Zuffa Boxing, who are complete control freaks and have no regard for contracts,” said Hearn.
