Ahead of his bout with Roman Dolidze this weekend at UFC 307, Kevin Holland says he would welcome a title bout with welteweight champion Belal Muhammad ahead of one with the middleweight champ Dricus du Plessis.
Holland, it must be said, has a bit of work to do to secure a title shot in either the 170 or 185-pound divisions but can get that ball rolling on Saturday night in Salt Lake City, Utah when he takes on the dangerous Georgian fighter, Roman Dolidze.
And should things go his way and he makes his way into title contention, Holland has a preferred route he would like to take.
“If I ever get to like a real title shot, I was like, and Belal is still the champ, instantly going down to 170,” he told the media in Salt Lake City, including The Mac Life, on Wednesday.
“Because Du Plessis is a way better champ than Belal is. You know what I mean. But that’s not going to happen. So, therefore, whatever they want me to fight, I fight.”
He added: “I’m an active motherf*cker. At the end of the day it’s like I did a little electrical work before. My grandma and grandpa owned a janitorial business. So I understood the 9-to-5 and clocking in hours and getting done with the job to get paid.”
