There’s just something different about heavyweight MMA.

The division, currently lorded over by Jon Jones and interim champion Tom Aspinall, is well known for being a competitive shark-tank — and with margins as fine as they are the summit of the division, mistakes can get easily punished.

Polish heavyweight Marcin Tybura knows this very well. The 38-year-old contender has won eight of his past ten in the UFC’s division of big men, scoring a range of different types of finishes during that time (which also includes a 73-second loss to heavyweight phenom Aspinall a year ago).

Tybura takes on Moldovan fighter Serghei Spivac this weekend in the UFC’s Apex facility on the outskirts of Las Vegas this weekend, and if you needed a reminder of what he is capable of in the cage look no further than his first-round finish of Tai Tuivasa from March of this year, which you can see here.
