Conor McGregor says that he is “confident we get the set date” when commenting on the possibility of making his return to the cage at UFC 300 in April in a Q&A with fans on Twitter.
McGregor, who hasn’t competed since suffering a serious injury to his lower left leg in his most recent fight in the summer of 2021, has been linked to making his comeback at the UFC 300 in April, a point after which he will have cleared all necessary hurdles ahead of his return to active competition. However, speaking to Ariel Helwani this week, SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh suggested that the UFC are considering delaying McGregor’s return until the summer.
But responding to fans on Twitter (or X, if you insist), McGregor said that he was “in” for UFC 300 and said that a lot of work is going on behind the scenes “to make it happen.”

I am confident we get the set date. There is no one holding no one back. A lot goes on behind the scenes but all involved are working hard to make it happen π https://t.co/TC9SOrVI1I

Additionally, McGregor noted that his upcoming opponent, Michael Chandler, is a “good guy” but added that he will be more “emotionless” than he suggested he has been for some prior bouts — as he also reflected on his welterweight win over Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone and his title wins against both Eddie Alvarez and Jose Aldo.
Check out some of the other highlights from the Q&A session below.
Yes, I think he is a good guy. Albeit I wonβt get over connected to that like past. Emotionless. A working man with a job in front of him. A handy job hahaha https://t.co/rynmvGl0KE

I was on fire that night for sure! Cowboy is and always was a solid multiple record holding ufc fighter. Went toe to toe over the full distance with the current ufc 170 world champion. I take note of. I fancy anyone on the roster on my day. Any one of them. All weight. https://t.co/QO4IezlsDp

Two stellar performances in the absolute high stakes competition. One, the fastest KO in ufc title fight history, the other, the most knockdowns in ufc title fight history. Proud of both for sure! Forever etched β€οΈπ https://t.co/hhs8Fp7F70
