Darren Till and Robert Whittaker are heading to the UFC’s Fight Island, according to a report by Brazilian outlet Combate.
The bout, which had been speculated as being the headliner to the UFC event announced for Dublin in August, looks like it will be taking place among the first events at ‘Fight Island’ — Dana White’s concept for bypassing coronavirus travel restrictions by holding fights on neutral territory.
The fight is expected to take place on July 25. White has kept his cards close to his chest when it comes to specific details of ‘Fight Island’, with MMA media yet to be informed as to exactly where the island is located. However, Till recently added to speculation that he would be competing soon when he posted an emoji of an island to his social media channels.

This leaves the UFC event in Dublin — the promotion’s first trip to the Irish capital since 2014 — without a main event and in doubt of going ahead, as public gatherings remain limited in Ireland due to ongoing coronavirus public health crisis.
Till was successful in his middleweight debut in November, earning a decision against Kelvin Gastelum. Whittaker, meanwhile, lost the UFC’s 185-pound championship to Israel Adesanya last year — and a win for either Till or Whittaker would place them in contention for a future title bout with ‘The Last Stylebender’.
