SBG lightweight Peter Queally has withdrawn from his scheduled bout with Terry Brazier which was set to take place next month at Bellator’s London event on June 22.
“I have been forced to withdraw from my next bout in London vs Terry Brazier,” Queally announced on social media on Thursday. “I have tried my hardest to stay in this fight, anyone in my team will confirm this. Full medical reports of scans etc have been sent to @bellatormma and are available to Terry and his coaches.
“I apologise to Terry and to everyone that was looking forward to this fight. It has been a very painful and frustrating number of weeks for me. I will now focus all of my energy on my recovery and will be back stronger than ever for September in Dublin. Thank you for all the well wishes.”
The Irishman had been scheduled to make his second appearance under the Bellator banner at next month’s event in the SSE Arena, following a split decision defeat to Myles Price in Dublin last February. There is no indication as to the extent of the injury but Queally’s eagerness to compete at Bellator’s next Dublin event in September can be seen as an indication that he expects to be fully healthy in advance of that event.
Tim Wilde has been drafted in to replace Queally in the event. Charlie Ward, meanwhile, has been confirmed to be a participant too with Bellator today announcing that SBG middleweight will face off with Justin Moore inside the English capital.
