Rivalries will be renewed between current UFC heavyweight champion and the last man to defeat him, Junior Dos Santos, this weekend at UFC 211 in Dallas, Texas.
Miocic brings with him a four fight win streak, all finishes by strikes and the most recent three all inside the first round, to the contest. While Dos Santos’ recent record is a bit more patchy (he has alternated wins and losses through his last six bouts), he does hold the notable ace up his sleeve of having earned a unanimous decision victory over the champion the last time they shared a cage together.
With both men being among the best strikers on the current heavyweight roster it is perhaps difficult to imagine anything other than a shootout on the feet when the main event rolls around at UFC 211 but, as is often the question when it comes to rematches, does the experience first time around favour the champion and the challenger?
