ONE Championship is quietly building itself a reputation as one of the premiere MMA organisations outside of the UFC.
At last night’s event in Bangkok, Thailand, dubbed Warrior Kingdom, rising atomweight star Angela Lee continued her perfect start to her career, blitzing the previously undefeated Jenny Huang. Best known for her incredible submission skills, Lee outclassed Huang on the feet throughout and earned a referee stoppage towards the end of the third round.
While Lee’s sublime performance was the clear highlight of the night, a bout on the undercard of the event also garnered some attention as 42-year-old former WBA super-featherweight boxing champion Yodsanan Sityodtong improved to 3-1 as a professional mixed martial artists after forcing a verbal tap from his exhausted opponent Ramon ‘The Bicolano’ Gonzalez — but not before the unusual scene of two fighters swinging for the fences from their knees was broadcast and subsequently spread around the globe on social media.
